Listen, identify, learn, test yourself, test your friends, find out what bird is in the garden, in the park, or waking you up every morning! Tap the name of the bird to hear its song, tap again to stop the song. Learning bird songs can be hard, but not with Chirp! Simply tap the bird photo to flip it over and reveal helpful tips plus a short description of the song.
A special feature is that the birds can be arranged in both alphabetical order and also in order of how common they are, so you can learn the most common ones first, then move on to less frequent garden visitors. They can also be grouped by type of song, so you can compare hooting and cooing birds for example.
Make a shortlist of your favourites so that you can find them quickly.
Once you find the bird you are looking for, click on the Wiki link to find out more (internet connection required).
After listening, try the quiz to test your memory. Answer fast to earn a score multiplier and get on the high score table! Experienced birders will appreciate the custom quiz to help in learning the songs of similar birds.
Fully translated into French, German, Dutch and Norwegian, plus partial translation into Danish, Swedish and Irish Gaelic. To change the language of the bird names: go to the Settings of the iPhone/iPod and scroll down until you see the settings for Chirp!
