V2 of iMCQs in General Medicine has 457 Single Best answer iMCQs on a range of topics in a redesigned cleaner interface - now with the ability to select which topics you want to answer from. Select a random quiz of 10 or 30 questions or choose to do all questions. Some questions have hints, many have explanatory answers and any questions you get wrong are added back to the pile to be asked again. You are shown your detailed score to help you know which subject to concentrate on.
The best piece of advice I was given as a medical student was always to revise the subjects I was bad at - not the ones I liked most! Sounds simple but its surprising how many don't do it. How do you know which you are bad at and monitor how you are doing? Do MCQs - simples!
The app contains 200 great Multiple Choice questions based on the photos from my successful A2Z of Dermatology app plus some other pictures of general medical problems. These questions concentrate on external signs of disease.
There are also 120 questions on clinical pharmacology - ie medicines as they apply to everyday practice. These questions are written by Joanne Goodwin, Clinical Pharmacist and independent prescriber. A handful are UK orientated but most work worldwide.
The rest are a range of questions including some basic clinical skills, general medicine, some ECGs, spirometry interpretation, and other data interpretation. Some are based on old finals questions that medical students I teach have reported to me.
The questions are aimed at medical students and junior physicians in training. See my other apps for other subjects.
Many of the questions have full colour pictures and are suitable as an aid to revision for finals, exams such as PLAB, MRCGP and USMLE.
Please see www.iMCQs.com for more details about my other apps. Happy to receive constructive comments on the apps, questions and particularly keen to hear from potential authors.
