A comprehensive guide to the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. This is the worlds major football (soccer) tournament with representatives from 32 countries playing for the top prize in World Football.
Our App has the following sections:
- Teams
A full listing of all 32 teams sorted into their Groups A to H. Touch on any team name to see some statistics about that team in the World Cup. Touch on the top row for a list of all the players in the squad for each team including their age, squad number, the domestic team they play for and a link to Wikipedia Mobile for their biography.
- Groups
A separate screen for all 8 groups showing every match listed with the date to be played. During the tournament, this screen will update with the scores after the games are played. Rotate the device to landscape while viewing a group for a full screen league table showing how each team is performing. The league tables will update after each game in the groups are played.
- Schedules
Separate pages for the schedules of each round of the competition show who's playing who, the date and time of the kick off, the official match number and the name and location of the stadium. The scores and teams on these screens will update throughout the tournament as matches are played. All times are localised so whatever timezone you are in, the kick off time will display in your own local time.
- Third Place and Final
Special screens show the details for these two special matches.
- Venues
A list of all the venues being used throughout the tournament including details and statistics about each venue. Also included on each main venue page is a list of all the matches that will be played in that location.
- Top scorers
See all the top scorers in the tournament on another screen with details of who they play for, and how many goals they have scored.
- FIFA Awards
Our final screen lists all the previous winners of the extra FIFA awards that are given out at each tournament. The Golden Ball, The Golden shoe, The Yashin award, Best Young Player and of course, the Fair Play Trophy. Individual winners of awards also have a Wiki Mobile biography link included too.
