The evolution of the climbing guidebook. Red River Gorge Rock Climbs presents the content of Wolverine Publishing’s acclaimed rock climbing guidebook to the Red River Gorge, Kentucky, on the iPhone or iPod touch.
The app stores all the guide content on your device – you don’t need an internet connection for it to work at the crag. The complete content of the print guidebook, including maps, topos, cliffs and action photographs, is right at your fingertips on a handheld device. In addition, some remote walls and extra action photos are found only in the app.
The current version of the app contains 12 regions, 130 walls, and ~1800 climbs. Wolverine will be issuing free app updates every 6 months with additional and updated route information during the first 2 years of the app. Unlike printed versions, your guidebook is never out of date!
In addition to all the great content from the print guidebook, the app allows you to:
-Explore the entire content with a few taps, in seconds, using touchable lists, maps, photos, and topos.
-Search and sort routes that meet your search criteria: sport, trad, difficulty, star rating, area.
-Tick List the climbs you want to do.
-Log the climbs you send and your progress on projects.
-Navigate complex terrain in real time using embedded maps and GPS. (real time GPS not currently available for iPod Touch)
