* NOTE: Lyrical will NOT fetch Lyrics from a third party site to avoid licensing issues (sorry!). It will only display Lyrics if they are embedded into the song, which you can do with iTunes. You can also use a third party app like Get Lyrical (not affiliated with Lyrical) to fetch lyrics for a song automatically while playing the song with iTunes.
** Lyrical is now Top 2 Paid App in the Music category! (October 2014)
Lyrical is a Notification Center widget for OS X Yosemite (yes, written with Swift) that displays your iTunes lyrics and various song information like artwork, artist, and song name. It even lets you control the playback, sound, and set ratings for the song! This is incredibly useful if you are using multiple apps and need quick access to iTunes controls or information.
You can also choose to view or hide the current song's lyrics. You can toggle lyrics with just a click, and Lyrical will elegantly expand and collapse to fit the song lyrics.
Lyrical also features Last.fm integration! Lyrical uses its Menu bar app icon to scrobble (publish), love or ban the current playing track with Lyrical. Simply open preferences with Lyrical's menu bar icon, authenticate with Last.fm, and you can then Love/Ban tracks. Lyrical will automatically scrobble the current playing track, but you can disable this, if you wish.
NOTE 2: If Lyrical does not appear in Notification Center after you have opened up the app, open Notification Center, click on "Edit" and add Lyrical from the list that appears.
Lyrical is back with frequent updates!
- You can now properly scrub the progress bar by dragging instead of just a click.
- Brightened the widget's text to match all the stock Widgets.
- Fixed an issue with displaying iTunes U video information.
There have also been general enhancements and optimizations under the hood. Yes,
Lyrical has a hood. It's green. It wears it at night, and shoots arrows at those
who have failed its city.
I'm reading every single one of your reviews and plan to add many of the
requested feature in a future update. If you want the latest news and updates,
